After much thought, I have come to the conclusion that it is impossible to say the words “Google Me” without sounding like a complete douche. It just cannot be done.
Now don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Googling yourself. Everybody does it. In fact, most HR reps recommend that you Google yourself on a regular basis.
Furthermore, there isn’t anything wrong with other people Googling you. Friends, HR Reps and stalkers do it all the time. It is good for your career. It is how you know your cool.
So, if having other people Google you is good, but being a douche is bad, how do you get people to Google you without being a douche?
You accomplish this by being creative. In what can only be described as a stroke of marketing genius, former job hunter, Alec Brownstein got some of the leading figures in the advertising industry to Google him, by Googling themselves.
